| Chata Pieniny lies right in the heart of the Pieniny National Park: the smallest national park in Slovakia, which offers unique natural scenery of dramatic limestone cliffs, rich flora and fauna, clean streams, and quiet mountain valleys. Unlike places often overwhelmed by tourism, you can enjoy peace, tranquillity and an authentic atmosphere here. Lesnica is one of the few villages that are “entirely” situated directly in the mountains, which gives it a unique mountain character. From Chata Pieniny, there is easy access to various activities: hiking in the Pieniny on both the Slovak and Polish sides, cycling tours, crossing the hiking trail into Poland (Lesnica–Szczawnica pass), or as a starting point for the legendary rafting down the Dunajec River. Another plus is the preserved culture and heritage in Lesnica; you can see traditional highland wooden houses, which give the entire environment an authentic, historical atmosphere. |
